“This habituate is ingeniously conceived... Even the mud died, watery open air environs to the sinuous stage design” The Guardian

Brass Balls ,Mercury Theatre, Studio

Sally Howard’s clever little cater cornered set shows a Dublin pawnshop cheek by jowl with a nightclub, followed by transformation to a middle class home for this world premiere of a Peter Dineen’s comedy of two parts. The Stage, Mary Redman

Reviews:

Jack and The Beanstalk, Mercury Theatre,

Sally Howard’s witty, colourful designs include a giant inflatable beanstalk,

Cinderella, Mercury Theatre

Sally Howard’s sparkly winter wonderland sets include Hardup Hall Ski Lodge. In-house costumes are of the usual extremely high standard, from cheerful gnomes in festive colours to Swan Lake-style flounces on Dame and Fairy. Review by Mary Redman, The Stage.

She Stoops to Conquer, Mercury Theatre.

Not only does the Mercury create powerful drama, it knows how to have fun with intelligence, wit and high style. Starting with Sally Howard’s blissfully satisfying set recreating a theatre of the period, complete with entrance doors. Within is the multipurpose room, changing with a revolving painting over the real fire into a stag’s head for the taproom of the Three Pigeons or with a gliding truck to the garden. Sleeping Beauty, Mercury Theatre

This most romantic of pantomimes lets Sally Howard spread her designer wings. Butterfly wings gently flap in the breeze while cute, highly coloured talking fish emerge from a fountain and a fondant pink pram houses the baby. Sheer delight. Review by Mary Redman, The Stage
